Plashetts is a small place, and the ordinary services of the village are few. They are not attractions. They are what is here if you are staying, or if you have come off the trail with something still to do. Milk, bread and a paper remain more readily found in Falstone. There is no shop in that sense. The hours differ; Opening Hours is the summary, and the board is the authority if this page and the board differ.
- The post office — a sub-office on the green, two mornings
- The building society — Thursday morning, at that counter
- The book shop — second-hand, next the inn
- Armstrong's — the photograph shop, on the lane
- The Ginger Cat — a small eating-house, on the lane
- The laundrette — behind the hall
- The market — Saturday
The camera club meets upstairs at Armstrong's, first Thursday. Numbers for the desk, the post office and the taxi are under Useful Numbers. The taxi is not a rank; it is how you get to Hexham if you have left word, and it is listed with Getting Here.
Parking is at the hall. The green is for walking. Leave the car there, not at the doors.
