The book shop
Last updated: 14 February 2006
The book shop is the cottage next the inn, facing the green. The painted sign says Books. It is not a grocer. Second-hand: paperbacks, a shelf of local interest, maps that are not the current sheet. It has been books for a long time. There is a bell on the door. Often you have to knock.

The book shop, from the green. The inn is the next frontage, closed. Photograph supplied by the house; the sign is the present one.
Hours are their own. A card in the window is the authority. Thursday afternoon is the most likely. Sunday it is shut. The market on Sunday, when it is books in the front rooms of the centre, is a different offering and is not this shop. Do not expect the desk to know whether the door is open today; look at the card.

| Sunday | Closed |
Unwanted books are taken if they will sell. Leave them marked, or ask when the door is open. There is no list on this website. The post office is on the same side of the green, two mornings. There is no parking at the cottage; leave the car at the hall. This office does not take orders for titles, and we do not keep a catalogue. A wet afternoon at Forest View has been known to end here.
