Getting Here

Plashetts is in the upper North Tyne, beyond Bellingham and Falstone, in the forested country toward Kielder. The drive is part of the visit. After Falstone the valley narrows, the planting begins in earnest, and the turning, when it comes, is a modest one, as befits a village of this size. It is best approached by road from the south-east. There is no through sign from the north as was once the case; see from the north.

Some maps of the valley show the name in slightly different places, as maps of a working district will; see older maps. The present approach is the valley road. Kielder Water is in the same country and makes a pleasant afternoon if you have one.
