By rail

Plashetts is no longer served by passenger rail. The Border Counties line closed in 1958, and the station with it; a short account of the line is under the railway, and the gallery has a photograph of the water tower. The nearest stations now are Hexham and, for some services, Haltwhistle. From Hexham continue by bus toward Bellingham where connections allow, and then as under by road. There is no Sunday bus in winter.
The former station site is no longer laid out for visitors. The story is told in the centre, which is the better place for it, and the walk from the green will show you the country the line once served.
