By road

From Bellingham, follow the North Tyne. The road is a good road, and the river keeps you company. After Falstone continue as signed. The forest closes in. The turning for Plashetts is easy to pass if you are looking for a larger place, or if you are looking at the water, which begins to show itself as the valley opens. Those making a day of both often take the water in the afternoon; see if you reach the water. The present approach to the village is this road. Forest tracks are for the forest, and they are not a short cut to the green. Brown signs, where they remain, refer to this village.

Visitors approaching from Kielder and the north should not rely on older OS sheets, or on a through sign. The forest roads are well kept, and they are forest roads. Ask at Kielder if you need to; they know the district. You may be told the turning is easy to miss. It is, and it is still there. See from the north.

Parking is at the Village Hall. The green is for walking and for Sunday tea. The church gate is a church gate. The old approach to Seldom Seen has no turning place, and the row is occupied.
