Waymarkers

The mark is a small green face, painted or cut, on post or tree. It is the same face, more or less, as the carving in the church, reduced to a thing you can see from the ride. Where a marker is absent, continue as the path suggests. The line is older than the paint.

The committee last walked the main line and the eastern continuation on 11 October 2005. Two markers were missing after the second stile on the loop. The main line was complete at that date with the exception of a faded face at the upper burn, which can still be found if looked for, and which is rather handsome in that state. Reports may be left for paths.

Replacement is slow, as replacement of such things is. Forestry operations have taken at least one post that we know of, which is the forest doing its work. Reports may be left at the centre. See also the parish notes.
