The upper burn

The upper burn crossing is Stop 7 on the trail board. After rain it is wet, and it is a good burn to look at: a narrow water in older trees, with moss on the stones. In the observations for 22 January 2006 the crossing was not used. A faded face at this point can still be found if looked for. It is the exception noted when the main line was last walked in October 2005, and it is rather handsome in that state.

This is not the withdrawn Stop 4 of the 2003 leaflet. That stop is a different number and has its own note. If you are carrying the leaflet, read the correction sheet first.

After the crossing the main line returns through the trees to the green, arriving by the hall. The burn itself goes on, as burns do. See conditions.
