Grass as usual. — Seth, Clacton

Kids liked the green more than the trail, which was fine. We did not do the eastern loop. First visit, main line, as advised. Ice creams we had in Falstone on the way home, there being no shop. — Mum of three, Middlesbrough

The green holds its own. — The Ranks, Maldon

Accessibility: the gravel from the green is the usual way, and it is gravel. We managed it slowly. The church gate is a church gate. The centre porch is a step. None of this was a surprise, having read the page. — Colin J., Oxford

The rides were a change. — Rosa, Witham
18 September 2004
The children are older now. We walked the main trail and left a glove at the second stile. In the morning it was on the porch bench, folded. We had not gone back for it. Thank you to whoever brought it in. — Helen & Dave, Gateshead

Kept to the trail. — The Quayle, Braintree

Webcam trial ended in August, we see now. We had liked looking in from home. The last image is not stored, which we accept. The green is still there. — The Marshalls, Selkirk
26 August 2004
One stile was slow going. — Quinn, Chelmsford

Sorry to see the webcam trial has ended. It was a useful view of the green. We will come in person, which is better. — Alan W., Penrith

A mobile rang in the trees below the church. It was not ours, and no one answered. Coverage is patchy, as you say. We did not look for it. The walk continued. — Vicky, Newcastle
15 August 2004
Advice on the page is sound. — The Pikes, Harlow
8 August 2004
The Ginger Cat was open. We had the pizza, which is made without meat or milk, and was better than we expected. A chart of the body is on the wall and was explained to us in some detail. Very kind people. The cat sat on the next table and did not trouble us. — Joanna P., Brighton
2 August 2004
Started before three. — Paul, Bishop's Stortford

Left a roll at Armstrong's on the lane and collected the prints on the way back from Kielder. Next door was doing a lunch. Not the inn. Film and a frame; we will use them again. — C. Armstrong, Hexham
