Paths may be closed without notice. Forestry operations, weather, and the state of the burns are not always on the board when they first change. Walkers go as they find it, which is the ordinary condition of a forest parish, and which is part of the walking.

After rain the upper crossing is wet, and it is a good burn to look at. In snow the rides are indistinct, and they are handsome. In still, low cloud the eastern continuation is better left for a clearer day. Ticks are present in season. There is no warden on the trail.

The committee last walked the eastern loop in October 2005. The board presently prefers the main trail for a first visit. See path closures and the code.
