Code of the path
Last updated: 8 November 2005
Walkers on parish paths are asked to observe the following, which is the ordinary care of a small place and a working forest.
- Keep to the waymarked line on the Green Man Trail.
- The churchyard is closed to the walk after dusk. Return by the gravel to the green.
- The eastern loop is a longer outing. In winter it is best begun before 15.00, and in poor light it is better left for another day.
- The shore, the old incline, and the pit head are not parish paths. The memorial garden is the place from which the colliery is shown.
- Dogs on leads on the green, in the churchyard, and on the approach to Seldom Seen. A short note is under dogs.
- Fires are not permitted. Take litter back to the hall bins.
- If the path becomes indistinct, return to the last stile. The line will still be there in the morning.
Forestry operations and weather may close a line without a notice on the ground. See conditions.
