The Gathering in 2005 was smaller than the previous year. The advertised speaker did not attend. The evening at the hall was cancelled. Thanks were recorded to those who provided tea, which was, as it always is, the thing people remember.

The eastern loop was walked on 11 October. Two waymarkers were missing after the second stile. The loop is not included in the advertised mileage. That remains the present advice; see the eastern loop. The main trail is the walk we recommend for a first visit.

Remarks left in the guestbook from that period have not been edited except to remove a telephone number. The date for 2006 will be posted at the centre when it is fixed. It is not given here in advance.
