Northumberland County Council·Internal Audit Service

Operator and governance

Day-to-day running is by Plashetts Parish Tourism Committee, which also maintains the public tourist-information service from the Heritage Centre (the former school). Bookings for the field are taken at that desk, or by letter, during advertised hours. Letters are collected twice a week. There is no booking form, no electronic record, and no identified duty officer for the field.

Operator (de facto)
Plashetts Parish Tourism Committee
Hall
Village Hall, finished in modest form between the wars; used for parish business, the Gathering, the Class supper, and Sunday tea when numbers allow
Key
Held at the Heritage Centre, not at the field
On-site staff
None employed. Informal committee presence while the hall or centre is open
After 20:00
No warden, by the operator’s own account
Telephone
01669 000000 (Heritage Centre; not answered outside advertised hours)

Minutes of the Committee were not requested in full. The last paper on the Authority’s licensing file (12 June 2001) records that the Committee did not consider the field to be a ‘site in the ordinary commercial sense’ and did not intend to apply for a licence. No decision of the Authority to accept that position is on the file.
