- Name used in this file
- Plashetts Village Hall Field
- Parish
- Plashetts, upper North Tyne
- Approx. OS grid
- NY 664 901 (not surveyed; read from Landranger 80)
- Area (walkover)
- 0.21 ha gross; 0.14 ha judged usable once gradient, drip-line, and the hall elevation are excluded
- Adjoining
- Village Hall (south); parish green beyond the hall; forestry to the west and north; no public road frontage to the field itself
Tenure was described by the operator as held with the Village Hall. No conveyance, trust deed, or lease was produced. Forestry Commission land is understood to adjoin. The boundary on the tree side is post-and-wire with a timber stile. The Authority should not assert ownership. For licensing purposes it is sufficient that a person is ‘occupier’ of the land; the Committee appears to act as occupier in the summer months and the Hall trustees at other times. That split is not documented.
Finding 1 — title
The occupier for the purposes of the 1960 Act and the 1936 Act has not been identified in writing. Management should obtain a statement of occupancy from the Hall trustees and the Committee before any licence or exemption is determined.
