Night-time presence and warden arrangements
The operator states that there is no warden after 8 p.m. That statement is public. It was confirmed by telephone. The unannounced visit at 20:40 on 11 February 2003 found the hall dark, the field empty (out of season), and no person on duty. In season the same arrangement applies. Persons on the field overnight are unsupervised. There is no on-call rota, no torch patrol, and no log.

On a licensed site of six pitches a resident warden is not always required, but a named person and a means of contact through the night are. The Gathering weekend, when numbers exceeded the design figure, had no additional stewarding recorded. The Authority would not accept this arrangement on a licensed site in the south of the county.
